Thursday 7/31/2008 Edition of Roc and Manuch
“Your Drive Home Sports Alternative”
The MLB trade deadline passed about two hours before the show started. The Diamondbacks were silent, but the Dodgers made some noise. Los Angeles picked up Manny Ramirez from the Red Sox, LA sent prospects to the Pirates, and Boston acquired OF Jason Bay. Manuch still thinks the Diamondbacks will take the NL West, Roc guarantees the Dodgers will win it. The Snakes and LA start a 4 game series tonight at Chavez Ravine.
Tee it Up with Steve Dahlby was next. Steve accomplished a miracle; he taught Roc how to golf. Earlier in the week Roc played a whole round without losing a ball.
HOUR 2
NFL Two-A-Days headed to the AFC North. Up first the Pittsburgh Steelers. R&M were joined by play-by-play announcer Bill Hargrove. They discussed how Pitt will replace Alan Faneca, 2nd year coach Mike Tomlin, and the young wide receiver’s.
After talking with the team that has the terrible towels, we went to the dog pound. To help us break down the Cleveland Browns we had beat writer Jeff Schudel from the News Herald. Jeff talked about the Browns trying to build on last year, quarterback Derek Anderson, and Shaun Rodgers who has looked dominate in training camp.
Bob Kemp gave us an update live for Cardinals camp including what happened in last night’s full pad scrimmage.
HOUR 3
In hour three we caught up Qadry Ismail for his Q School Segment. Q wouldn’t let us talk to his brother Rocket, but did give us his thoughts on the never ending Brett Favre saga.
