2008 Turkey’s of the Year
The following list was compiled from the crack staff at On Air Sports Marketing. The following are Bryan “Hank” Gibberman’s (Roc and Manuch’s producer) top 10 from all 60 plus entries. The List:
-The Curse lives on…The Cubs getting swept by the Dodgers from the NL Worst….Cubs have not won a World Series since 1908…won 97 games the most in the National League
-Dumb and Dumber… Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur getting caught with weed at the rookie symposium, both players were on the Kansas National Championship team. What was running through these kids heads to have weed at a seminar on how to stay out of trouble? Their stupidity rivals Damon Stoudamire bringing marijuana in tin foil through a metal detector at an airport.
Playgirl Playmate… Chris Cooley showing his junk on his website. Can you really unintentionally post a picture of your Richard?
-Diamondbacks Debacle… The Diamondbacks bullpen…after leading the Dbacks to the playoffs two seasons ago, one of the major reasons they lost the division to the Dodgers. Where is Jose Valverde and his crazy mound antics when you need him?
-WWE meets ASU baseball…Pat Murphy deciding it was a good idea to stage a fight before Game 3 against Fresno State in the College World Series. It was between Brett “The Hitman” Wallace and Ike “Hacksaw” Davis. The idea worked out real well.
-Where is the Ford Bronco when you need it? OJ Simpson with the help of some cronies stole memorabilia that was at one point his. He will be sentenced on December 5th. For the good of the planet lock him up forever
-Senile Man who needs to be put in a stray jacket…Al Davis has completely lost his mind. The owner of a once proud football franchise has made a complete fool of himself. Davis has fired a young coach who was improving in Lane Kiffin, traded a second round pick for DeAngelo Hall and giving him huge contract. He then proceded to cutt him before the season even ended. The Raiders also signed an injury prone wide receiver who was a mental wreck after the death of one of his best friends to a huge contract-Javon Walker.
-Bottom of the Barrel Sports State …The state of Washington is just plain awful. The Washington Huskies are 0-11, the Mariners lost 101 games, and there basketball team thought things were so bad they left for Oklahoma City. At least it still rains and no one can take Nirvana away from them.
College Football Disasters…Rich Rodriguez led the University of Michigan to 3-9 record including a loss to Toledo. This is the first time in the history of Michigan of Football that they lost 8 games. The University of Tennessee and longtime head coach Phillip Fulmer parted ways. The Volunteers struggled to a 4-7 record overall, 2-5 in the SEC with 1 game left against Kentucky. It is the only time since 1992 that Tennessee has had a losing record in the SEC.

-Pacman the Clown…Adam “Pacman” Jones cannot keep his nose clean. After NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell reinstated “Pacman” he was involved in an alcohol related incident with his bodyguard and was once again suspended. The commish reinstated Adam and he is practicing with the Cowboys. If he has one more misstep he will be banned from the NFL for life.
Honorable Mentions:
-Going Down in the Dirty Desert… U of A basketball fouling twice with the scored tied at the end of the UAB game. This ranks up their with Chris Webber’s timeout in the National Championship game as one of the dumbest ways to lose a game in college basketball history.
-Muscle Man Ref Screws Up…Week 2, division battle between the San Diego Chargers and Denver Broncos. Fantastic game, coming to a dramatic close, and the game is ruined by referee Ed Hochuli. The Broncos are on the 1 yard line and Jay Cutler fumbles. The pass is ruled incomplete by Hochuli and he blew the whistle which means the play cannot be reviewed. Hochuli’s mistake was so bad that he apologized to Chargers fans.
-Hello is anybody home? Donovan McNabb there are ties in the NFL, enough said.
-Suicide watch…Vince Young, DON’T EVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT TELLING YOU MOTHER WHERE YOUR GOING!!!!!!
-Enjoyed Rosie O’Donnell’s version of the National Anthem…Josh Howard it might not be the best idea to insult the National Anthem on a camera phone. You’re a professional athlete use your brain.
