Favre and Packers Deserve Each Other

The Brett Favre soap opera and it has become annoying like a mid day drama, needs to come to a close. Both player and management have made mistakes. The longer the situation continues the worse the Packers and Favre look.

The Packers have no leverage on teams in trade talks. If they hold onto Favre, he shows up at camp and causes all hell to break loose. He puts Aaron Rodgers and Head Coach Mike McCarthy in a terrible situation. Are they really going to have a QB battle in training camp? I can’t see Brett Favre being happy about having to play a half in the 2nd preseason game. If Green Bay wants to avoid this they have to trade or release Favre.

Knowing all of the above the Packers need to understand what Favre’s value is. They should lower their demands and move Brett immediately. This would avoid the upcoming confrontation.

Favre always claimed to be all about the Packers. He isn’t, he cares for himself, Brett had no regard for Green Bay when he held them hostage the past couple of years. The front office wants to send a strong message to their players, the team has moved on. They are trying to show that Brett Favre can no longer hold them captive.

The best resolution for both sides is to move on before Favre’s legacy as a Green Bay Packer is ruined. Neither side wants to see that happen. The longer it takes for this to play out, the uglier the ending will be.
