HeaderAre you kidding me on this one: Women Against Fantasy Sports!

Why are there so many women out there that just have too much time on our hands.  Fantasy football is an outlet for a ton of married guys!   Without it, they would be divorced!  Women should be supportive that their significant other has a hobby four months out of the year.

How can playing Fantasy football really bug these women.  I think I will start something called Guys Against Women Bitching!

Man, this just drives me nuts!

We will bring on the creator of this site on our radio show!

BTW, wait till you get to the part of their website called ABOUT WAFS - what a bunch of crap!

Hey Roc, this really grinds me…a group of women set up some fluffy women’s club to complain about men enjoying competition. They should just be glad their husbands and boyfriends have an outlet.

On top of it this group is receiving media coverage and exposure across the country…how about putting a group that is doing something worthwhile out there for people to learn about?! Like, I don’t know, say the Veteran Tickets Foundation! They are a non-profit foundation started in Phoenix less then 6 months ago that is finding ways to give free & discounted tickets to our active military, veterans and their families as a thank you…big event with the Diamondbacks on September 12th. If you would like to learn more check them out at http://www.VetTix.org …I’m sure the creator of this foundation would be happy to come on your show if WAFS can’t find time to fit your show into their busy schedule of b*tching & moaning!

amen brother! there are too many women in this world who think that all of their mans free time has to be spent with them. if even one second is not spent with them then its the old ‘well you really dont love me’ speech. however, it’s perfectly all right for the women to do whatever they want with their free time whether that be hanging with their friends or shopping. what women don’t realize is that this is an escape for men a chance to have a little fun. i am one of the lucky ones, i have a wonderful woman who gives me the space i require and never once complains about it. so to all of you who support these people, back off and let your man play a little. just because he chooses to spend a second of his free time playing a little don’t mean he don’t love you.

I find the premise of this site humorous and I can relate to it. I remember when I hated football, I was jealous that it “stole” my husband from me each week. I figured I had three choices. I could either just ignore it and appreciate the time alone (I hate being alone), I could throw a fit and force him to stop and have him silently (or not) resent me, or I could LEARN.

A few weeks ago, I put a cry out for the women of the world who hate Football to join me in participating in our own 16 week challenge Fantasy League, so we could discover what it is that brings our husbands back year after year.

I must say, I am impressed. The response from the women is overwhelming. One participant is quoted as saying, “I have often heard my husband comment ‘fantasy football will change your life’ now I understand. It has a way of drawing you in to not just watching the last quarter of a close Panthers game but being interested in all of the games! In the past, I have never really resented his obsession because I have always spent Sunday shopping or doing my own activities. This year, having an eight month old, I knew would make things different. I did not anticipate how much fun we would have watching the games together! We actually had a wonderful afternoon playing with our son and watching our teams! ”

Check out the journey online. Not all women who were against fantasy football are joining a club, a lot of us are joining a league. A fantasy football league!

My Website is the counter to WAFS. My goal is to get women more involved in it.
It is called Girls’ Guide to Fantasy Football (or GG2FF).

Agreed, 10 + fantasy leagues is overboard.
    Agreed, all obsessions/addictions are dangerous.
Agreed, it is a good idea for people to have a place to share in their struggles (ie – I hate cilantro.com)

However, I don’t think fantasy sports is the problem, it is just the symptom. I believe many women (and men) will be introduced to a whole new world of enjoyment from playing the game and aim to help them do so.
