HOUR 1

Jim Grieshaber filled in for Roc today. Bob McManaman joined the Roc and Manuch show. Bob talked about the NFL Coaching circle. McManaman thinks that the Cardinals will be the only home team to win this weekend in the playoffs.

Coach of the Minnesota Gophers Football team, Tim Brewster, stopped by to preview the Insight Bowl here in Phoenix. The Insight Bowl is a Big 10-Big 12 match up. He is very excited about his teams’ chances against the Kansas Jayhawks. Coach Brewster is enjoying the weather and can’t wait to get to In and Out Burger.

Griese and Manuch talked about how the Big Ten has been the underdog this bowl season. The guys also talked about how Coach Mangino for the Jayhawks has made the football program something worth talking about.

HOUR 2

Craig Fouhy joined the guys for a little “Fact or Fouhy.” When asked if the Cardinals are one and done in the playoffs he said “Fact.” He also sticks to his prediction of the Giants and Titans in the Super Bowl.

Grieshaber and Manuch gave you The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. The Good went to the Falcons, Dolphins and the Colts. The Bad went to the Buccaneers, Bears the Broncos and the Cowboys. The Ugly goes to the Jets and the Lions.

Mike Florio checked in to discuss the NFL Coach Carousel. He was very surprised that Mangini was fired by the Jets. Mike thinks Bill Cowher might take over for the Jets in ’09. Mike talked about the option that Parcells has in his contract to walk away from the Dolphins after this season because Wayne Huzeinga sold the team.

 

Gil Tyree from CBS 46 in Atlanta caught up with Manuch and Griesehaber to preview the Falcons-Cardinals wild card game on Saturday. Gil sees Matt Ryan making it to numerous Super Bowls by the time his career is over. He was not happy that John Abraham, the pass-rushing specialist got screwed out of a Pro Bowl selection.
