Monday 7/28/2008 Edition of Roc and Manuch
“Your Drive Home Sports Alternative”
HOUR 1
Roc and Manuch started their Monday off wrapping up the weekend. Goose Gossage was inducted into the Hall of Fame, Antonio Margarito beat Miguel Cotto who was undefeated, Jimmy Johnson won the Brickyard 500, and the Diamondbacks finished off a sweep of the San Francisco Giants.
Our NFL two-a-days started today. First up was the Jacksonville Jaguars. Cole Pepper from the Jaguars radio network dropped in and discussed the revamped defensive line, ex-ASU head football coach Dirk Koetter, and the overhauled receiving crew.
Then it was time for Fact or Fouhy with ABC 15’s Craig Fouhy. The guys talked about his piece on Anquan Boldin and should the Diamondbacks give up Conor Jackson for Mark Teixiera.
HOUR 2
Hour 2 picked up right where we left off. Should the Diamondbacks put together a package featuring Conor Jackson for Mark Teixiera? Jackson has had a nice season, but Tex could be the big bat to put the Snakes over the top. R&M both believe the division is there for the taking and adding Texiera could make the Dbacks a legitimate threat in the playoffs.
Up next was Big 10 Network lead analyst Charles Davis. Davis analyzed the changes going on at Michigan, Terrelle Pryor’s impact on Ohio State, and what is going on with Joe Paterno at Penn State.
At 4:45 Bob Kemp called in from Cardinals training camp just down the street from Granny’s Closet. Kemp went over the latest happenings at Redbirds camp.
HOUR 3
Mike Chappell, Colts beat writer from the Indianapolis Star gave us his thoughts on this year’s edition of the horseshoes. He feels Indy is right on track to make another Super Bowl Run.
