Monday 8/18/2008 Edition of Roc and Manuch
“Your Drive Home Sports Alternative”
Roc and Manuch back together again wrapped up a huge sports weekend. The Olympics are in full swing, Cards won their first pre season game under Ken Whisenhunt, and the Diamondbacks are in a heated race with the Dodgers.
Former Cardinals Linebacker Rob Fredrickson broke down the Cards-Chiefs game. He wasn’t very impressed with the performance, but does see some potential in a few of the young Arizona players.
Craig Fouhy visited for his weekly segment. The topics ranged form the Diamondbacks, Cardinals, Manuch’s football career, and Manuch getting left at the alter.
HOUR 2
Actor Richard Tyson was nice enough to give Roc and Manuch a few minutes of his time. He gave us an inside look at his upcoming movie Jake’s Corner. The movie was filmed here in Phoenix and was directed by Ron Santos’s son Jake Santos.
Our NFL Two-A-Days headed to Carolina. Panthers radio voice Mick Mixon discussed how Jake Delhomme has looked and the running back situation. He also gave Manuch an update on his relative Ryan Khalil.
Hour 3
The second half of our NFL-Two-A-Days cruised down the coast to Tampa Bay. Bucs beat write Roy Cummings from the Tampa Tribune told us about the QB situation, the RB depth chart, and a defense that is getting a little bit old.
After we finished up our two-a-days Roc and Manuch kept it on football and the big local story. Mike Florio of profootballtalk.com reported that Anquan Boldin and Ken Whisenhunt were no longer on speaking terms. R&M discussed what this meant for the Cardinals. A couple of examples of coaches and players who didn’t get along, but coexisted are Terrell Owens and Bill Parcells, Keyshawn Johnson and Jon Gruden, Kobe Bryant and Phil Jackson, Manny Ramirez and Terry Francona.
