Hour 1
The Cardinals QB controversy is front and center. Chris Mortensen reported that Kurt Warner had been named the starting QB after Matt Leinart’s awful performance against the Oakland Raiders.
We heard clips from Whisenhunt and Leinart from their pressers today. Whisenhunt refuted Mortensen’s report and Leinart thinks he will only get better and he can’t worry about what people say about him.
Roc and Manuch gave their thoughts on the situation. Manuch thinks Whisenhunt made a mistake naming the starter so early. He should have just came into camp with an open competition. He also didn’t like that Leinart didn’t meet with the media after their 3rd pre season game. Roc thinks Kurt Warner is a professional and gives the Cards the best chance to make the playoffs.
Hour 2
Dan O’Brien closed out the Summer Olympics at Beijing. He was disappointed with the performance of the US Track and Field team. R&M really enjoyed the 2008 Summer Games
Hour 3
Our NFL Two A Days dominated the third hour. We started with the Minnesota Vikings with Pioneer Press beat writer Rick Alonzo. Alonzo thinks Jared Allen is a huge addition to an already dominate Vikings defensive line, Tavaris Jackson was developing nicely at QB before he went down with an injury, and AD has a chance to be one of the next great running backs.
After we finished the Viking we hit their division rival Chicago Bears. To help us out with DA Bears was Matt Trowbridge from the Suburban Chicago News. He has higher expectations for the Bears than most people and he definitely was not a fan o f Rex Grossman.
