Monday 8/4/2008 Edition of Roc and Manuch
“Your Drive Home Sports Alternative”
Roc and Manuch welcomed everyone back from a relaxing weekend. Started off the week taking a look at everything that happened since we got off the airwaves Friday; Brett Favre arrived at Packers camp for an open competition for the starting job and the Diamondbacks split four games with the LA Dodgers. The Dodgers new star Manny Ramirez had a quick impact for his new team. He hit .615, had two home runs, and drove in five.
Sunday was media day for ASU Football. Dennis Erickson previewed the 2008 season. We heard bytes on the training facility, the difficult schedule, and Rudy Carpenter’s experience. Manuch gave us his thoughts on incoming freshman Gerrell Robinson from Hamilton high school.
HOUR 2
At the beginning of the second hour R&M dove back into the Diamondbacks. Arizona is starting a seven game home stand tonight against the Pirates. Roc expects them to sweep.
The Olympics are rapidly approaching. Roc is worried about the media being able to do their job, while Manuch doesn’t foresee there being any problems in Beijing.
HOUR 3
We proceeded with our NFL Two-A-Days. First up were the Denver Broncos and we were joined by sideline reporter Alan Roach. Alan feels that this is a make or break year for quarterback Jay Cutler.
NFL Two-A-Days traveled to Baltimore and we caught up with radio color analyst Stan White. White believes that rookie running back from Rutgers Ray Rice can have an impact and thinks Troy Smith is the best option at quarterback this season because of his mobility.
