Hello Friends, I have a lovely bunch of Chinese coconuts for you this week. Without further adeau:
Michael Phelps

I will be honest I have never thought of Swimming as a big deal, but damned if Michael Phelps didn’t make me believe. Phelps is a machine, and I don’t see him loosing during the Olympics. last night in the 4X 200 relay he basically had the race won before the other three swimmers for the USA got into the pool. He makes all the other swimmers at the Olympics look like it is their first time in the pool, and these guys are all the best from their country. Who would of thought that there would be a huge story from the Olympics. Michael Phelps has taken the spotlight from the Olympic NBA team, and the fact that Beijing’s Pollution problem is a hundred times worse than LA.
The Olympics
I have actually been watching the Olympics. I know, I am even surprised. There are so many story lines, and it helps that we have the aforementioned Phelps to talk about. I still haven’t seen a Basketball game, why because I value my sleep more than Olympic Basketball. Water Polo and Table Tennis are very much guilty pleasures. We haven’t seen the track events yet and I am hooked. I guess the 15 hour time difference plays well for the IOC, having morning events in Beijing being played in Prime-time.
Well that wraps up a Beijing Palm Tree Perspective, check back tomorrow as I do a special Adam Dunn edition of the Palm Tree Perspecitve.
