Reports surfaced this evening that there will be a BRAND new look for the 76ers come next year. It is presumed that Elton Brand will sign a five year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers. The deal is said to be worth 86 million dollars. I for one think that Brand will thrive in the Eastern Conference. Just look at how Kevin Garnett thrived after moving to Boston. I am not saying that we will be seeing a championship in Philly next year, but damn if this doesn’t make them competitive.

This has to be a shock to Clippers fans who all presumed that they were going to see Baron Davis dishing to Brand all season. This news coming on the heels of news that Corey Maggette will be headed to the bay to play for the Warriors. Just when the Clippers became relevant, they loose two pieces that would have seriously helped them in a very talented Western Conference.

This puts the Clip in a rough spot now that Davis will be looking for help from the likes of Chris Kaman and Quintin Ross. This also puts a lot of pressure on Eric Gordon to step in next year. Look for another weak year from the team that borrows their home court from the new look Showtime Lakers.
