Thursday 10-30 Edition of Roc and Manuch
Your Drive Home Sports Alternative
Â
Â
Roc basked in the glory of the Philadelphia Phillies winning there second ever World Series. Manuch and I tried to ruin his mood by playing the famous Joe Carter home run off Mitch Williams, but it did not work.
Hornets Radio play by play announcer Sean Kelley joined R&M for their In the Paint segment. Kelley is interested to see if Chris Paul will hold up through the season and he really likes what free agent pick up James Posey brings to the table.
Roc and Manuch discussed the Suns big win over the archrival Spurs last night. The game started on a light note with Greg Popovich having Michael Finley “Hack-A-Shaq” on the opening tip. Manuch thought it was funny, Roc thought it was too much.

HOUR 2
Dennis Dodd from Cbssports.com previewed this weekend’s biggest game. The main topic of conversation was Texas-Texas Tech. Dodd thinks this is the week Texas goes down because of the gauntlet of games they have faced and Mike Leach actually has talent to go with his offensive system. Dennis reminded the guys that Oregon State is the only team in the Pac 10 that controls their own destiny. He also thinks Clemson is a better job to take than the University of Washington right now.
Roc and Manuch gave out their mid season NFLÂ awards. Drew Brees was the quarterback of the year; Clinton Portis the RB, and Roddy White the WR. Roc decided to change his Super Bowl Picks to the Titans-Eagles, Manuch stuck with Cowboys-Chargers.
Hour 3
Â
Kevin Roberts from the Courier Post started off the final hour. He can not stand the start times to the World Series games, but thought it was very good baseball. Kevin found the Phillies-Rays series was very entertaining. Roberts thinks the Chase Utley play to throw out Jason Bartlett at home will go down as one of the greatest plays in World Series history.
At 5:25 it was time for Q School with Qadry Ismail. Q said Mike Singletary went a little over the top pulling down his pants at halftime of the 49ers Seahawks game, but he understood the point he was trying to make. Rams WR Donnie Avery graduated Q School and Plaxico Burress needs to go back to school again.
