Nov 13

Thursday 11-13 Edition of Roc and Manuch

Your Drive Home Sports Alternative

HOUR 1

Randy Johnson will not be returning to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Roc does not care that Randy Johnson is leaving. He wants them to take the money they would give Johnson to Brandon Webb. Manuch thinks if Johnson can stay healthy, he is a solid #3 or #4 starter for half of what his contract was last year.

Tyler Flowers joined Roc and Manuch for the Arizona Fall League. His name has came up in trade rumors for Jake Peavy, but the Braves refused to part with him. Tyler is happy Atlanta has confidence in him and hopes he is able to help the organization when he gets called up to the Major League level.

Kevin Ray pre game host for My 45 checked in with Roc and Manuch. Roc created a couple nicknames for Matt Barnes; KRay likes Matt “Boom Boom” Barnes. Kevin wants the Suns to start showing that kind of fight and emotion before they are down by 19 points.

HOUR 2

Cbssports.com College Football Writer Dennis Dodd started the second hour. The guys could not resist talking about the Texas Tech-Oklahoma game, which is next weekend. They discussed how the bye week could affect both teams. They previewed tonight’s Miami Hurricanes-Virginia Tech game. Dennis thinks Miami and Florida State are on their way back to being national powers. Dodd does not believe that the BCS games going from Fox to ESPN would make any difference.

Craig Davis from Fantasyfootball.com got the guys prepared for the stretch run with their fantasy football teams. He also helped out the listeners taking calls.

HOUR 3

Rod Woodson from the NFL Network previewed the New York Jets-New England Patriots game, which is on the NFL Network. Bill Belichick does a great job getting the Patriots to buy into his system no matter who is on the field. Rod thinks the Jets have found their identity, running the ball with Thomas Jones and Kris Jenkins dominating the game at the nose tackle position.

Qadry Ismail joined Roc and Manuch for Q School Segment. Qadry defended his wardrobe after Roc, Manuch, and Rod Woodson insulted it. Qadry is leaning towards Matt Ryan as the rookie of the year because of the consistency he showed through out the season. The “Missile” discussed Michael Vick’s future in the league. The veterans who need to go back to Q School are numerous offensive coordinators in the league including Mike Martz.
