Thursday 12-4 Edition of Roc and Manuch
Your Drive Home Sports Alternative
Roc and Manuch kicked off the show discussing the Phoenix Suns loss to the New Orleans Hornets. If the Suns continue to struggle R&M would not be surprised to see one of the big guns traded, possibly Amare Stoudamire.
Phoenix Suns great Tom Chambers caught up with the guys for his weekly segment. He is disappointed with Stoudamire’s effort, he turns it on when he wants, but does not play with intensity on a consistent basis.
HOUR 2
Fox Sports Arizona is carrying this weekend’s Dual in the Desert between Arizona State and the University of Arizona. Juan Roque who will be doing the game with Glenn Parker thinks Keegan Herring is the key for the Sun Devils. Juan was not afraid to show his dislike for the Wildcats.
Arizona State football legend Frank Kush joined the guys and gave his memories of the Territorial Cup. He also elaborated on how schools have coaches in waiting and why schools fire coaches before their contracts run out.
HOUR 3
Uncle Tony is back in the Arizona area after spending the summer in Cleveland. He wouldn’t discuss his “family members” in New York and New Jersey, but had no problem getting into Roc’s tennis playing days and Manuch’s autobiography The Replacements. Uncle Tony’s lock of the week was Arizona State by 10 over the University of Arizona. His wildcard pick was the Detroit Lions because they are due for a win.
Qadry Ismail checked in for his Q school segment. Qadry does not expect to see Plaxico Burress in a New York Giants uniform again, but does think he will find a home in the NFL if he gets cleared of the chargers. Q chose Denver Broncos rookie offensive lineman Ryan Clady to graduate Q School and Plaxico Burress doesn’t get the full kick out Q School, but he does get sent to detention for being an idiot.
