Thursday 7/17/2008 Edition of Roc and Manuch
“Your Drive Home Sports Alternative”
HOUR 1
No phone calls, no guests by phone, no problem, Roc and Manuch have it all under control. If you wanted to reach them, texting and email only, it made for a different yet interesting show. Started off heavy on the Diamondbacks. Tony Clark is heading back to the desert. Clark was the veteran leader on the team last year. The trade isn’t about his play; it is an attempt to bring stability to the locker room.
The guys took a look back at some of the highlights of the first half including the incredible six run ninth inning against the Milwaukee Brewers. R&M went over the significance of picking up Dan Haren and why the team struggled after a quick start.
HOUR 2
After looking back at the Diamondbacks first half, Roc and Manuch gave an overview of the pre All Star break action on the diamond; Ken Griffey Jr’s 600th Home Run, the Josh Hamilton story, Jon Lester’s no hitter, Ozzie Guillen’s rant, and many others.
The Arizona Cardinals are forcing anyone who wants to purchase tickets to the Dallas Cowboys game to buy seats to the pre season New Orleans Saints contest. R&M think this is absurd and a terrible PR move by the Cards.
Steve Dahlby stopped by Right Toyota for his Tee it Up segment. They conversed about the British Open and once again tried to fix Roc and Manuch’s struggling golf games.
HOUR 3
Bob Melvin held a presser at Chase Field. We heard cuts of the manager talking about the Tony Clark trade, previewing the Dodgers series, the Dbacks needing consistency, Eric Byrnes injury status, and the role of Micah Owings.
