Thursday 8/14/2008 Edition of Roc and Manuch

HOUR 1

            Tre Bender stepped in for Roc who took a four day weekend in the Carolinas.  The Diamondbacks moved back into first place with a 6-2 win over the Rockies.  Adam Dunn had a big 2 RBI single to extend the lead to 6-1.  Dan Haren got back on track after two mediocre outings. 

            Pac 10 Commissioner Tom Hansen checked in with Manuch and Tre.  He will be retiring next summer.  Hansen told us about the many things he was proud of during his tenure.

            Tee it up with Steve Dahlby closed the first hour.  The guys talked about Predraig Harrington winning his second major and the upcoming Ryder Cup.

 

HOUR 2

            Dennis Dodd joined us for the first of many interviews during the College Football season.  He went over the USC quarterback situation, Georgia Tech Head Coach Paul Johnson letting his QB get hit in practice, and the Arizona State offensive line.

            Tre and Manuch continued the college football discussion with the debate that never gets old; BCS or traditional bowl system. 

HOUR 3

          Ken Whisenhunt is considering starting Kurt Warner against the Kansas City Chiefs.  Tre and Manuch debated whether this is the right thing to do.

            Qadry Ismail stopped by for his Q School segment.  Q discussed what a quarterback competition can do to a team.   

Friday’s Show
