Tuesday 10-14 Edition of Roc and Manuch
Your Drive Home Sports Alternative
Â
Â
Roc has started the Kurt Warner for MVP campaign. He thinks if Warner continues to play at this level and can lead the Arizona Cardinals to the playoffs for the first time since 1998 it would be deserved. Right now Warner’s numbers are up there with Jay Cutler and Brett Favre’s.
Brad Berko checked in for his weekly Roc and Manuch cigar segment. He told the guys about his exciting weekend where he went to an ultra exclusive cigar club in Beverly Hills.
Rick Horrow who normally joins R&M on Wednesday at 3:25 had to switch it up this week because he is heading out of the country. The guys still like Rick even though he took a shot at Sarah Palin. He talked about the NBA letting go of some of their employees. Roc and Manuch think David Stern is being a hypocrite since he is trying to expand the game globally to China. How do you not have the money to pay 80 more employees!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOUR 2Â
We are just about half way through the College Football season and Fiesta Bowl President John Junker stopped by to talk some college pigskin. R&M tried to get a hypothetical out John, but he would not fall for it. The Fiesta Bowl could be put in a very tough position of picking BYU or a big name team like Penn State who would be better for TV.
Roc and Manuch continued to discuss College Football. Neither of them pay any attention to the early season polls, they will not give credence to any of these top 25’s till the BCS comes out.
Â
The third hour was packed with the team the Valley loves to hate…the Dallas Cowboys. Pacman Jones has been suspended for at least four weeks and they traded for WR Roy Williams. The Cowboys now have two Roy Williams, which could be confusing. To acquire the former Texas Longhorns WR the Boys gave a first, third, and sixth round pick. Roc and Manuch thought that was a little excessive for a good, but not great WR.
To discuss all the latest happening with the Dallas Cowboys, Brian Davis from the Dallas Morning News gave us a couple minutes. He informed us of all the extra draft picks the Cowboys were able to pick up through wheeling and dealing in last year’s draft. He thinks they picked up Williams to try and off set the impact of the Tony Romo injury and he does not think the Cowboys will back Pacman Jones any longer.
