Your Drive Home Sports Alternative

HOUR 1

Roc and Manuch opened up introducing the Roc and Manuch 12 Days of Christmas. Starting this Friday Roc and Manuch will give away an amazing prize at the twelve of every hour. If you win you will be put in a pool and the winner that is selected gets to host Roc and Manuch with the guys for three hours.

The Sports Professor Rick Horrow checked in with the guys to discuss the business side of sports. This week’s topics were banks using money lent to them by the government to buy the naming rights of stadiums, the Oscar De La Hoya fight (pay per view numbers in boxing), the NHL trying to use Sean Avery’s comments as a marketing opportunity, and Charlie Weis keeping his job as the head coach of Notre Dame.

Brad Steinke from Fox Sports Arizona joined R&M to hit on stories going around on the valley. The guys had some fun with the Suns players for the collage they made. Brad expects the Suns to hold Nash out tonight so he is ready for tomorrow’s game against the Mavericks. Arizona and Arizona State face off on Saturday in the Territorial Cup; Steinke previewed the game that has meaning for both teams.

HOUR 2

Bob Licht, the Hornets TV PBP voice previewed tonight’s Suns-Hornets game for the In the Paint segment. He thinks Chris Paul will get the exposure needed to get the MVP this year and Tyson Chandler is the key to New Orleans winning a championship because of his defensive ability.

Gary Barnett, former Colorado and Northwestern Football Head Coach caught up with Roc and Manuch to discuss the passing of broadcasting great Tom Dillon. Gary has worked numerous games with Tom and was grateful for everything he taught him while he was learning to be a broadcaster. Gary will be doing the color for the University of Arizona-Arizona State game on Saturday. Coach Barnett’s key to the game is Arizona State being able to establish a running game. He previewed the Big 12 and SEC championship game and was very surprised and upset that Auburn got rid of Tommy Tuberville.
