Wednesday 7/30/2008 Edition of Roc and Manuch
“Your Drive Home Sports Alternative”
Alex Romero had the play of the year for the Diamondbacks. He saved Doug Davis’ start and new relief pitcher Jon Rauch. The trade deadline is nearing. The Yankees picked up Pudge Rodriguez and the Red Sox are seriously considering trading Manny. The deadline is tomorrow at 1 pm.
NFL two-a-days visited the Cincinnati Bengals. Their play by play radio announcer Brad Johansen gave us the tour. He updated the status of Chad Johnson, discussed rookie Keith Rivers, and talked about how good Carson Palmer can be.
Rick Horrow came on for his weekly segment and went into the business side of sports. He gave Roc and Manuch information on the Olympics, what training camps do for smaller towns, and the Brett Favre economy update.
At the beginning of the second hour R&M got into the Snakes with FSN Arizona’s Brad Steinke. They talked about Romero’s unbelievable catch and the upcoming Dodgers series.
Later in the hour we were joined by Bob Kemp to preview tonight’s full pad scrimmage. We also heard cuts from starting QB Matt Leinart and Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt.
Manuch’s old teammate Dave Humm who is now the pre/post game host for the Oakland Raiders caught up with Roc and Manuch for the second of our NFL two-a-days. They went over the additions of DeAngelo Hall and Javon Walker, Darren McFadden’s first training camp, and the status of JaMarcus Russell.
